About Rachel
That's what I'm here for.
Hi, I'm Rachel
I grew up with a mom who believed experiences matter more than things, and that stuck with me. I've been blessed to travel a lot: with family, my partner, my dog, and with friends. Every single trip showed me a new part of the world, a new viewpoint, and when having things planned out makes all the difference. I've also learned when some flexibility in your schedule makes the trip even better.
Three years ago I started living full time in my RV, with my fiance and my dog. We've gone on road trips across the continent, living in the most beautiful places North America has to offer. It's included countless national park adventures, boondocking (off-grid camping, for those not in the nomad world), with some international travel and several cruises mixed in. We've seen the northern lights, hiked the Canadian Rockies, and spent time soaking up the sun on beaches in Puerto Rico, St. Kitts, and San Diego. I've learned what makes a trip exceptional, and what makes it stressful.
I started First Light Travels so other people could have those experiences without the 40 hours of research that usually comes with them. I'm detail-oriented, I love a good spreadsheet, and I care about getting your trip right so you can have the experience of a lifetime. Whether it's a national park road trip, a cruise with all your best friends, or a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Europe or Asia, you bring the idea, and I'll handle everything else.
What working with me looks like
"I want a beach trip in winter" works just as well as "I want to visit Amalfi in May." Tell me what you're dreaming of, your budget, and who's coming. I'll take it from there.
Flights, hotels, excursions, dinner reservations, campground bookings, special requests. I dig into the details and come back to you with options that actually fit what you told me.
I'll give you choices. We'll adjust. I love this part. The goal is an itinerary you're genuinely excited about, not just one that looks good on paper.
I'm your point of contact before and during the trip. If a flight changes or something comes up, I'm on it. All you need to do is be there.
Good to know
All are welcome. Whether you're going alone, with a partner, or trying to wrangle 15 people with different opinions, I can work with it to make it the best trip for everyone.
Dietary restrictions, accessibility requirements, specific lifestyle needs. I pay attention to this and I'll make sure your trip actually works for you, not just in theory. I've spent years managing dietary restrictions for myself and my family, and I'll make sure you can eat and enjoy yourself wherever you are.
I don't have kids, so theme parks and toddler-friendly itineraries aren't where I shine. For everything else? I've got you!
